Q: How do I become a member? A: Impact Audio Theater is an audition only Percussion Independent Open class indoor drumline open to anyone who does not turn 23 years of age before May 1st of the upcoming year. Auditions will take place starting on November 5, 2007 (11/05)
Q: Will this interfere with Drum Corps? A: We encourage our members to participate in Drum Corps, and will work with members who are actively participating in Drum Corps. Q: Will this interfere with school obligations? A: We encourage our members to participate in the services and opportunities offered at their school, and will work with members who are actively participating in their full band ensembles. Please inform us on the front side/ before hand of the conflict with an email notication. Q: Do you offer fundraisers? A: We will offer different fundraisers during the season which help drive down the cost of individual memberships. Due to the nature of fundraising, we do not recommend relying totally on fundraising to raise member dues.
Q: Will Impact Audio Theater interfere with extra curricular activities? A: We do practice during the school/work week. We rehearse primarily on Tuesday's and Thursday's (with occasional Saturday"s and Monday's). If you play a sport/work/have other conflicts with Tuesday's and Thursday's on the schedule, then it would not be wise to audition for the ensemble.
Q: Can my parents/family members/friends help out with Impact Audio Theater? A: We encourage all members to get their parents/family members/friends involved with IAT. We would love to utilize parents/family members/friends in as many ways as possible during the season. We are very interested in increasing our parent/family member/friend involvement over years past, especially with hosting a WGI regional this year.
Q: What is the size of the ensemble? A: IAT is actively seeking the largest ensemble we can "field". (Approximately 40 members)
Q: How much is this going to cost? A: There is a one time audition fee of $25 (that goes towards dues) payable at the first audition camp that you attend. The member dues are $250 ($225 after audition fee is paid) for the 2008 season. The member fees can be paid in monthly installments or in one lump sum. The member fee is a set amount and not discounted based on the time that you join. Fees must be paid prior to first competition. This member fee helps offset the cost of member shoes, instrument loan and repair, practice facilities, bus transportation, drivers, uniforms, professional instructors and many other expenses.
Q: Where will the ensemble rehearse? A: At this time we are planning on having all rehearsals at the Kentucky Wesleyan College, Owensboro, KY . Corner of College Ave. and South Griffith.
